How I started.

So while I was living in Rosarito, B.C. Mexico my creative juices were flowing like crazy! I had so much time and space to craft it up. From designing my room,

to painting,
and sewing.
Sewing became an obsession. I found myself spending hours infront of a sewing machine. Designing bags was the start of designing clothes and after three years of community college I decided to enroll at FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandise). I did my first year at the San Diego campus in Downtown and my second year at the Los Angeles campus. Because I did not want to leave my job in San Diego working at an orthopaedic office in La Jolla, I decided to stay in San Diego and commute to Los Angeles once a week. I pretty much lived a double life staying in Los Angeles three and a half days a week and the other half of the week in San Diego. FIDM was no joke! I can probably say that it was the toughest thing I have ever accomplished in my life. My experience at FIDM taught me so much about the fashion industry and how hard and challenging it is to be part of the fashion field. I really admire and look up to fashion designers, specially the ones who never give up on their work. Here are a few things I have done at FIDM and after I graduated.

This was actually my first design at FIDM, San Diego.

A few of my close friends sported my t-shirt design.

Front and back view.

My first hoodie design. I didnt finish the sleeves, but still aced it!

Every girl should have a little black dress.

I love anime! So for Halloween 09' I decided to cosplay a character of my own. I also made a friend of mine a loofah sponge costume. How fun is that?!

I bought this fabric for 95 cents at Veterans Thift Store in San Diego. It was love at first sight.

This sunsuit was made for a car show in Vegas called "Viva Las Vegas 2010". Its a must go! Besides the awesome cars, 50's fashion is expressed and photographed throughout the entire event.

My 25th Birthday was amazing and floral was in this year. I spotted this fabric in LA at the alleys (Fashion District).

I also made this funky birthday flyer using Illustrator and Photoshop.

I made this dress for a fashion show I was part of at the Ivy Hotel in downtown San Diego. I was a dresser for the show, not to mention the seamstress and made all alterations for the launch of their online vintage store: maryjanesjunk.com. For all you vintage junkies, check them out! Here are a few pieces I made and altered.

These were only a few of the many things I have done and theres more to come!
